I'm giving the designers the benefit of the dougbt that the center speaker was made to sit on top of a bulky CRT, because there has never been a good way to position on my LCD. That is, until now

I used the VESA mounting screws on my monitor to create a support bracket that plases the center speaker in the optimal position. It sounded and worked great... and then I went and bought a shiney new monitor... without a vesa mount :P
